The Challenge

For the production, a believable ageing effect was needed that makes the actor look noticeably older without restricting his facial expressions. At the same time, the prosthetics had to hold up reliably under the demands of a shoot and blend harmoniously into the overall look.

Since the prosthetics had already been fabricated in advance, my focus was on precise application, clean transitions to the skin and realistic colour matching.

The Execution

The multi-piece silicone prosthetics were carefully positioned, applied and seamlessly bonded to the skin. This was followed by individual painting and blending so that all transitions appear as invisible as possible and the prosthetics blend harmoniously into the actor's skin tone.

Throughout the preparation, care was taken to ensure the prosthetics move naturally with the actor's expressions and meet the requirements of the planned camera set-ups.

The Result

The combination of high-quality application and realistic colouring produced a convincing ageing transformation that believably supported the character and worked well both on stage and in the video shoot.

The careful finishing of the transitions ensured that the prosthetics appeared natural even in closer camera shots.
