I never choose materials out of habit, but according to the requirements of the project. For much of my work, PlatSil Gel is an excellent foundation because it adapts flexibly to different character designs. The material is always only one part of the overall workflow – what matters is how all the steps work together.

For me, the focus is not the material but the finished character. A material should support the performer's performance, not work against it. That is exactly why the choice of material is always adapted to the requirements of each project.
Detail fidelity down to the surface
Alongside movement, the reproduction of fine structures also plays an important role.
Skin pores, wrinkles, scars and other surface details are created during sculpting and are then transferred to the prosthetic through the mould-making process.
For this work to remain visible in the final result, the material used must be able to reproduce even very fine structures reliably.
For this reason, the choice of material is considered early in the development process.
